She believes in treating the whole person, taking into account the spiritual, cognitive, physical, and emotional components. She believes in the power of touch, and the importance of being fully present while actively listening to her patients. She has decades of experience in educating people about their health and wellbeing which provides her clients with empowerment, encouragement, and results.
Dawnne specializes in Myofascial Release Therapy (MFR) and has reached the classification of ‘Expert Level’ in her extensive training of over 700 hours learning directly from John Barnes, PT . He is considered to be the “Father of Myofascial Release Therapy”. The John F. Barnes’ Myofascial Release Approach® is a holistic manual therapeutic approach. This method of myofascial release is gentle, safe, and effective. It involves individual, hands on treatment with a skilled practitioner. The Barnes’ Approach incorporates three components: Structural Myofascial Release, Rebounding, and Unwinding. Used collectively, these techniques are highly effective in reducing stress, diminishing pain, improving mobility, enhancing athletic performance, and optimizing general health and wellbeing.
She uses MFR for both Physical Therapy patients and for Wellness clients. If you are struggling with pain, restrictions, stress, scars, woman’s health issues, pediatric development, or dysfunctional mobility, Myofascial Release can help. MFR is the missing link in healthcare: assessing the mind-body relationship in order to heal layer upon layer the cumulative effects of inflammation, trauma, and stress in the body.
Dawnne has also become certified in Therapeutic Touch Therapy as developed by Kreiger and Kunz. Dawnne has studied with Dr. Peggy Fuhs, RN and continues her training several times a year to enhance her skill level.
Dawnne enjoys a regular yoga practice, hiking, biking, gardening, soccer, listening to live music, and dancing. She is also a photographer with a passion for the outdoors. She enjoys an active lifestyle and is excited about assisting others on their journey.
